Safety at major concerts — Tips and rules

Safety at major concerts

At an 11,000-person outdoor concert, safety is paramount. Here's how to look after yourself and others.

Arrival

  • Set a meeting point with your group beforehand
  • Note the emergency exits
  • Don't push — rushing forward is dangerous

During the concert

  • Drink water regularly — especially at outdoor summer events
  • If you feel unwell, signal — security staff will help
  • Don't cling to your spot — if the crowd moves, go with it
  • Beware of pickpockets — keep valuables in inside pockets
  • Crowd safety

    • If you feel crowd pressure, turn sideways (smaller surface = less pressure)
    • Don't let anyone fall — if someone goes down, help them up
    • If you feel panic, try to move toward the edge of the crowd

    Weather

    In August:

    • Hot: stay hydrated, use sunscreen
    • Rain: the concert generally continues — bring a rain jacket
    • Cool evening: bring a light cardigan

    First aid

Every major event has a first aid station. If you or anyone around you feels unwell, don't hesitate to seek help.

    With children

The concert is open to all ages. Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Hearing protection (earplugs) is especially important for kids.

    Responsible fun

If you consume alcohol, plan your ride home in advance — never drive!
